Description
The Botanist hails from the island of Islay, famous for its intensely peaty Scotches. They combine 22 hand-foraged, local botanicals including berries, barks, seeds, peels, and of course, juniper. Islay is full of marshland, which provide, “coriander grass, sweet sea aster, salty green orache, and the tang of sea plantain”. Their master forager has studied botany, and keeps the island in sustainable balance, and he needs to always be aware of what the climate is doing around him and when certain botanicals go in and out of season. The Botanist is incredibly smooth, with delicate notes of menthol, apple mint, spring woodlands, juniper, coriander, aniseed, lemon and orange, flowers, honey, and more. It is cool on the entry but becomes warm as it reaches the back of the palate for a luxurious, rich feel.
